Information You Choose to Send
Queries Entered in Search
A name, location, or other term entered in a search tool is transmitted to the third-party provider operating that tool so it can return results. Ste. Genevieve County Recent Arrests does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s handling of a query is governed by its own privacy terms.
Correspondence
If you email us or submit a contact message, we keep the information needed to read, route, and answer it. We do not disclose that correspondence outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Technical Details Collected During Visits
Web hosting, analytics, and related services can automatically record routine technical information when a page loads. Those records may include:
- The connecting IP address;
- Browser name and version;
- Device category and operating system;
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them;
- The referring website, when one is supplied; and
- Date and time stamps associated with the request.
Cookies and Similar Storage
Cookies may be used to understand how visitors move through the site and to support site, advertising, or measurement functions. Most browsers allow cookies to be limited or blocked. If you do so, some features or preferences may work differently.
Reasons We Process Information
- To operate the pages reliably and improve loading or navigation;
- To pass a search request to the service selected to process it;
- To understand which guides visitors find useful;
- To identify errors, abuse, security concerns, and other technical problems; and
- To display advertising that may be selected according to interests.
When You Follow an External Link
Our pages link to official jail and custody searches, Sheriff and corrections resources, booking publications, court or government portals, and outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination’s privacy policy, not this notice, controls its collection and use of information.
Advertising providers may use their own technology to recognize activity across websites and select interest-based advertising. That processing takes place on those providers’ systems and is subject to their policies and controls.
Recipients of Information
We do not sell personal information. Depending on how the site is used and what legal obligations apply, data may be received by:
- Search partners that must process a submitted query;
- Analytics vendors that measure visits and performance;
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure ads; and
- Law-enforcement agencies or other government bodies when disclosure is compelled by a valid legal order.
Security Has Practical Limits
We use reasonable, customary safeguards intended to reduce unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. No website, transmission method, or internet-connected storage system is entirely secure, however, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
This Site Is for Adults
The site is intended for people who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor submitted personal data, use the Contact Us page so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.
Choices About Your Data
Subject to applicable law and our ability to verify a request, you may ask us to:
- Provide a copy of personal information we hold about you;
- Correct personal information that is inaccurate;
- Erase information for which there is no continuing lawful need; or
- Stop or limit certain processing where an opt-out right applies.
These requests concern information controlled by this site. A government agency, search partner, analytics provider, advertiser, or linked publisher controls its own records and request procedures.
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this Privacy Notice as services, vendors, or legal requirements change. The updated version takes effect when it is posted here with its new effective date. Reviewing this page periodically is the best way to see the current practices.
